What society tells black women is a catastrophe, that we must dress half naked to be considered worthy, the diction that is used intertwines like a rapid growing grape vine around our mind, exploiting our inner thoughts, wrapping them around a time period, placing us back into the hands of slavery. Chained and Bound as they try to tear us down. hiding us beneath the the shadows, tellin US we are not beautiful, so we lack self confidence not realizing that we as women hold the golden ticket, feeding into what is portrayed so here we stand with pounds of make-up, artificial nails and hair, standing in the midst of a crowd but still we are not there. Broken, misguided, afraid of the naturalness within so instead of embracing a beauty so pure we fill ourselves with the pollution of the land, holding on to the insecurities that were planted by a man instilled deeply within constantly beating ourselves up just to please THE MAN, but these shackles must fall us women must grow tall breaking the roots of the stereotypes, corruption, disruption, planted deeply in our hearts and mind, young BLACK women we are the STRENGTH, the most powerful form of life.
