The Woman in White

Location

There’s something there before my eyes that doesn’t let me through

That curtain hangs there still as ice, if only people knew

I feel the time that passes by

I fight and scream and push and cry

I pause and look up in her eyes

The curtain is whose disguise?

With an expression I’d never seen before

My gaze now drops down to the floor

She holds the curtain with a vice grip

Never letting it slip

Just when I think she loosened her grip it tightens even more

I turn around and ask myself is it really worth fighting for?

I look again and blink away the tears

Trying to face my biggest fears

The woman stands there white as snow

And it was me, I did not know
