The Woman That I Am

Dear Family,

I am doing this all for you

And you probably don't even know

Because I always keep pushing through

And never let my emotions show.

I don't care about fame money or power

But I do care that you never have to worry.

So I’ll stay up hour after hour after hour

Just to make sure you never go hungry.

You’ve always told me that I would be the one

To take care of you when you get old and frail

So I’ve never let myself forget that my job is not done

Until over poverty my family prevails.

I will get you off of this never ending train

Of debt and hunger and sacrifice and cold.

I will make sure you are free of stress and pain.

My drive to provide for you will never grow old.

My dear family, how I love and cherish you so much.

I will never stop working for you, gaining all that I can

Because you did it for me without one complain or such.

So one day you will be proud of the woman that  I am.
