Without You

A day without you is like a nightmare I can't wake up from.

In days like these it's like I'm walking through water that only reminds me of the color of your eyes,

because with you nothing seems broken and I learn how to trust the fall.

A day without you is like holding your breath and expecting to sing,

because I'd rather hold this last breath I shared with you,

than dare to inhale with these punctured lungs that seem to shrink every time that you're away.

A day without you is the day I wonder why the sun even came up in the first place,

because I thought it too only woke up to see the smile on you're face and they way its rays turned your hair to gold.

Richer than any man on Earth; priceless to say the least.

Going about my day as if my heart isn't missing is the best role i'll ever play.

My arms have an endless chasm in the shape of your curled body.

They don't seem to know what to do without you but tremble down to the bones, making my heart beat faster,

counting down the seconds that you're gone.

If a day without you feels like the weight of a thousands suns crushing into me in rapid succession,

then I don't want to know what a whole lifetime without you will ever feel like.
