Within the Mind of the Broken

My emotions run to high, they bubble over yet stay inside.

I bleed my thoughts through this pen,

my pain being read over sheets of tattered paper.

Imprisoned in silence.

Too much to say, no-one listened today,

I scream through the hollow halls of my mind.

Imprisoned with silence.

I’m supposed to be the strong one,

people look to me for advice,

I put up walls inside these halls to block the pain I feel.

Imprisoned by silence.

Through blinded eyes, and tears I cry,

nobody sees the darkness.

Silence is my prison.

My mind expands through vast expanses,

Bursting through the seams,

Set free from all this silence.
