A Wish

I'm just a girl that craves intangible things

Like love

A love that sees past my flaws

And imperfections

You see, beauty fades but we are infinite

As infinite as the stars that look down on me

As I look up at them

Wishing they bring back the love I longed

I'm just a girl that craves peace

Living in a fantasy

Away from this harsh reality that brings my spirit

Squeezing, crushing my soul

A force within represses me

And as my eyes shut I dream of a fantasy where

The stars look down on at me

As i look at them

Wishing that whatever has me bound in their clutch would release me

Praying that the harmony I acquired would restore

I'm just a girl that craves freedom

Prancing, leaping

Running to escape the poverty that consumes me

I wish I could fly just to meet those stars that look down on me

Watching me look up to them

Wishing for wings

To fly to an inexistent love

To fly to that fanciful peace

To fly until I obtain the freedom I’ve been waiting for

But until then

The stars will look down at me

And I will look up at them

Wishing, praying they continue to protect me
