Wings

Rain, on the window, did glide.

Pain, the girl did feel inside.

With every drop of water,

Her broken heart cried.

Cars flew by

Dark was the sky

She could no longer fly.

She felt as if she had died.

The trees were tall

And she felt small

Trapped inside her heart's wall

To herself she lied

"I'll be okay"

"It's just another day"

A few more lies she did say

She no longer had her pride

She was humbled

As her world crumbled

And from the dust there was a rumble.

Something, the world tried to hide

Her wings we found

She was no longer bound

It was such a beautiful sound

As beautiful as a bride

She flew.
