Wings

For a long time I ran

Running from so many thing's

Especially love

It seemed I did not need it

For it would only weigh me down

Then God sent me a storm

Of messy dark hair

And all-seeing eyes

And a smile that held the stars

He was different from all

The rest of them

I could never run

For there was something

Inside him I yearned for

A force as pleasant

And as unattainable

As the eye of a sea storm

This boy I met as a young girl

And as a we grew

Together I knew

I had found a connection

I'd found a fire

A light

I found love

Keepin it was a battle

All my life I had never

Imagined that I

Didn't have to run

And jump and kick forever

Then a man with silver wings

Swooped down

With arms of magical dust

And swept me off my feet

And to the sky's he's shown me

Sights I could never

Dream of seeing

He showed me a world of wonder

He painted my black sky with stars

He brought the rain to my stuffy clouds

And the blue to me graying skylines

He flew me high above trembled mount's

And showed me what love was all about

He showed me I could do anything

I could fly forever

And I've been falling

Forever upward ever since
