Wind Down

Tue, 10/18/2016 - 20:26 -- armelys

I very much enjoy the first bite of cake.

As I scrape the fork on my plate and smile

I think to myself I might have to run an extra mile.

But I shrug it off because this pastry is good for my own sake.

No need to worry, step outside and look at the birds!

They do us good, haven't you heard?

Their chirp chirp chirp is splendid to our ears.

And I have found it welcomingly pleasant over the years.

It is important that we find what makes us happy.

Trees, hugs, books, bugs--- to name a few.

Or your grandmother's stew, or perphaps the morning dew.

If you are overwhelmed, maybe wind down and just take a nappy.
