Will You Wait For Me?

Will You Wait For Me?

I am surrounded by worlds.

My cruel imagination—

A savage predator,

Who graces me

With beautiful words—

Shreds my body

With its graceful talons;

I cannot love, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?

I am huddled in a corner

Crimson pain trailing my face;

My mind blurs with questions—

For my tormentors,

Ignorant beasts with lions’ paws—

That spill burning sea water

Into my eyes.

I will not love, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?

I am lust-stricken,

Watching his body—

Which I can only say

Matches my own—

And I truly see the cruel ways

Of the monsters who run the world,

Oppressors in their fear.

I am not permitted to love, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?

I am a devoted partner

Who is who she is

Due to a betrayal—

The ones who befriend

Hold equally thorny stems

As my own—

I will never share with her again.

I am a traitor in love, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?

I am one greater than the child

Who has worthless ideals of the world—

Scum rule the earth, from which

More scum is born—

Who must take pleasure

In his scorn

That I must condescend upon.

Love is indebted to me, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?

I am a child who sees

The world as a brighter place,

Wishful in my beliefs—

Humanity is not truly disgusting

Cruel-hearted and unaccepting—

Crooked smiles wait

To crush my hopes

I want to love, for I am lost, but

Will you wait for me?
