Will You Read to Me?

Will You Read to Me?

by McKinzie K. Smith

Will you read to me?

When I am young and don't understand,

When I am just learning.

Will you read to me?

In that perfect voice you have,

That really knows how to tell a story.

Will you read to me?

I promise I will listen,

I won't squirm too much.

Will you read to me?

I know that I can on my own,

But it's much better together.

Will you read to me?

Just for a minute,

I know you are busy.

Will you read to me?

Even when I'm old,

And can't see the words.

Will you read to me?

You'll have to speak louder,

You'll have to speak slower.

Will you read to me?

Even if I don't understand,

It will still mean the world!
