for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes and showers deliverance on you. Why time is of an essence?

 

Another year, where did it go?

It left me so far behind.

Memories seem like yesterday

closed in by my mind.

 

An even start, a simple plea

on a track even and smooth.

To give some hope in life’s race

against some pre-timed proof.

 

Why does temporal dominate?

Why is time of great essence?

Why make life the time of day?

Why take away its fragrance?

 

What have I done to life itself?

Did I hide it and placed it in a box

There labeled it curtailed by time

and stacked somewhere in a slot.

 

Crawling back towards labor sweet

Still in a hurry to dig a deeper hole

that somewhere I started years ago

leading to what’s by now so overgrown.

 

Where darkness rules and time imprints

And brings despair to every soul.

In search of peace and life of ease

bound in blindness like a mole.
