I grab my pen and I escape,
My own world begins to shape;
All my struggles fade away,
Vivid colors replace the gray.

My hand glides across the page,
The words are the actors and the paper is their stage;
Their emotions are conveyed through every rhyme,
Voices ring like sweet chimes.

My feelings flow through my hand,
Washed onto the page like ocean to sand;
Syllable by syllable my art begins to unfold,
Each stanza shines like gold.
