Why Don't We Play Gatsby

Why don't we play Gatsby,

I'll play Gatsby,

You can play Daisy,

Five years can separate us,

But nothing ruins forever,

Let's sit around all day and lay in a pile of clothes,

I'll try to please you,

You will crave to stay,

Let me show you what desire feels like,

Let me show you true love with passion,

Let's go dive into the water never to resurface without one another,

Let me shower you in affection,

Let me clothe you in lust,

You can play Daisy,

A pretty little fool,

You can have the finest caviar,

I can give you the world,

I can show you that I'm a gentleman,

One you can love at last,

I will play Gatsby,

Cold and alone I can watch the bay between us,

Craving every inch of you I will sit in deafening silence,

Today is the day like everyday,

That together we'll play Gatsby,

You can play Daisy,

I will play your Gatsby

The Darcy Perspective

I love poems that allude to other works, and this makes me want to be Daisy.
