Why...

When the light rises and I claim consciousness mine

My thoughts do not race to this here and now time

They follow your hair as you flow around the corners of my mind

Why?

If either bones should break, or teeth be gnashed

If joy should flee or worry flows unabashed

If any knee should bend or back be lashed

may it be mine...Why?

But when the fear is pierced and joy abounds

When all is rest and peace resounds

May my voice in your ear be the only sounds

Why?

Now before the time comes to leave this moor

One thing must become real inside time

My voice will proclaim I am yours

Why?

Because simply, I Love You
