Why?

Why is it her fault?

What did she do?

He didn't hear her words,

Didn't accept her saying no.

Why is she to blame?

Curled up on the bathroom floor,

No hope,

All sense of security stripped from her.

Why?

Why do we blame her?

The victim, the survivor.

Why do we point fingers at anyone other than the person who did it?

Why isn't the responsibility bestowed upon him?

Why do we let ourselves blame her?

Her clothes, her dress, her words,

They don't excuse his actions.

His drink, her drink,

They don't excuse his actions.

Why?

Why do we give the scum of the earth excuses?

It only gives them more power,

It only gives them the right to do it again.
