To Whom it May Concern

to Whom it may concern,

these words on parchment

these pixels on screen

let them live on in your mind.

I hope you'll treat them kindly.

to Whom this poem is addressed,

whether you are a stranger,

a friend, my family or my lover,

regard my feelings softly.

Dear Mother Nature,

who always listens with open ears

let my words hang in your air

and drift through your wood.

to Myself,

these phrases you form into poems

cushion and swell the heat around your heart.

Never forget who looks back at you in the bathroom mirror.

Sincerely,

the poet.
