To Whom I Left Behind

May my words reach their intended end,

My dearest mother.

I am so far away,

but I still see you crying for me every day.

Sweet and tart,

the dark red stain.

Never fear mother, I'm not in pain

I'll come home,

to flower and crown,

hug you tight, and ignore your frown.

They wear gray,

but I wear red,

even those who refuse will bow their head.

My eyes are black,

my teeth are pearled.

This is who I am, Queen of the Underworld.

But for you I will always and forever be,

your dearest sweet Persephone
