This Whole Time
The sun shines bright
and two worlds collide.
Reality starts to rise
as your dreams meet their demise.
Your heart is breaking
as you lie in your bed knowing
You have to get up and stand all alone
while the breezes of passersby chill your bones.
Day by day,
you try to blink the weakness away
And night by night,
you dread the morning light.
I know how it all feels.
I’ve bled and scarred and healed.
I’ve been with you this whole time,
wanting to make your pain mine.
So take my hand, and like the King said,
take my whole life, too.
Your shattered heart will grow less sore
For you aren’t alone
anymore
