Who Want's to be Flawless Anyway?

Location

My dad said once

That flaws are what make a woman beautiful

It took me eighteen years to believe it

Cellulite and stretch marks

Pimples and fat

The hair that never did what I asked

The bump in my nose that never got flat

The second toe of my right foot that looks funny

(and started my pathetic attempt to avoid flip flops)

My hands that have callouses from writing and drawing

My hair that's a nest from wild bike riding

Scratches and scars on my legs

That tell stories of long summer days

"Flaws" till the other day

When I looked in mirror and saw

That the pimples didn't make me mean

That the fat didn't make me cruel

That my hands are actually quite lovely

And my toes are kinda cute

It took me eighteen years to believe

That flaws are what make a woman beautiful
