Who Am I?

Mon, 02/16/2015 - 15:59 -- jbessie

Who am I at the end of the day?

No longer masked beneath media, makeup, and fake smiles

What out of all that does stay,

Am I even worthwhile?

i am quirky and shy,

Though at times impulsive and naive.

I tend to defy as much as I comply,

My goals I strive to achieve.

I enjoy the simplest of things,

A good book to read on a rainy day,

The joy that laughter brings,

Dozens of flowers in a vibrant bouqet

Though others adorn themselves with worthless things,

I find my value as a child of the King.
