Who am I if not what people make me out to be?

Am I a liar, a cheater, or just another picture on the wall?

Or am I a statistic; a lifeless number that can easily be discarded

In a photo I am whatever people want me to be and you can stare for an eternity and never really see

 

Do you really want to know who am I? Do you really wish to see me?

Or would you rather spend your time staring at a picture and wondering "who is she?"

You can stare at my picture all day and never see me because "the more you think you know, the less you actually see"

Who am I? I am the girl who chooses not to hide behind a frame

I rather be natural and naked then hide behind photo-shopped fame

Without the lens of a camera or the filter of a photo, I can be no one but uniquely me

 

I am the girl who can make you see; the beauty within and around us

I am the girl who makes you listen; my words can make you rethink what you know

I've been called the girl with a gift; the power to touch your soul

Without a camera I am passion untamed, uninhibited and free

Without filter my pictures are authentic; they are the true version of me

They capture my emotions; my happiness, my sadness all the things that make me, me

 

Without filter I have nothing to hide behind, I can express myself freely because I am one of a kind

Some may see a girl or a pretty face or even a photo-shopped smile; but that isnt me

Who am I? I think the answer to that is finally clear

I am not the smiling photo-shopped girl in the picture

I am the girl who rather be herself than a picture which is a complete lie
