White

Location

White

Who taught you

 And you

Yeah

You too

To

Hate yourself?

Your eyes

Your ears and the lips on your mouth

Your nose

The way that you walk

Talk

And the clothes that you wear

Who taught you to hate the very hair on your head

And…

Fry it

Dye it

Extend it

Perm it and hairweave it

Skin bleach it and cream it

Who made you

Believe

That

Everything black

Is

Everything demeaning

Seedy and evil and that if it sho’ white

It sho’ alright

Who!

In the hell

Brainwashed you so much so that you wanna go and wash

That

Beautiful!

Color you got off of your skin

Who…

Whitewashed you?

And forced you to pray to a fair blonde-haired blue eyed God way up there in white Heaven

I’m saying

I mean

Just look at the paintings in between the pages of the Good Book

Adam

White

Eve

White

Jesus

White

Mary

White

Peter

Piper

Paul and all the twelve disciples and prophets

Whiter than Snow White and the Seven white Dwarves

They white like

Alice in Wonderland and all the wonderful white Disneyland characters often seen on the TV screen

Like Thumbelina

Cinderella

The lily white little mermaid and pretty little Annie

So white and cute

Like the Beauty in Beauty and the Beast who was kidnapped by a

Big black

Monster

Who was awful

Until

He transformed into a handsome white prince

And

Wouldn’t all of you princess bitches love

For a great white knight in shining white armor on a white horse to come rescue you

Please !

Give me a break

Whitey so pure and innocent

High and mighty

He the father of civilization

He the boss man

Yessuh!

He the massah

The creator and the maker

The taker and the owner

The stockholder

Who control this whole white man’s world

He

Makes it go round and round

Don’t you know?

Haven’t you noticed?

His face is on the dollar bill you’d kill for

He the judge

The jury and the executioner

He the executive

The CEO

The doctor

The lawyer and the law enforcer

The mayor

The governor

The Congress and the white shadow in the White House

Hiding behind a white picketed fence

Where there is one token black who eats in the kitchen when company comes

Mmmhm

He the last Great White Hope

That’s why you need him

That’s why you’ll bleed for him

But when your churches are being bombed and your little girls are being murdered you haven’t got no blood!

Haven’t got no love for your own kind

You’re blind

Wake up!

Open up your mind and ask yourself why

The neighborhood look just like a pig sty

Why

There’s piss in the elevator and the staircase

Why

 In the pool hall

The white ball

Always wins and in chess the white pieces move first

C’mon now this aint checkers!

Why

The garbage aint collected

Women disrespected

Children neglected

And we sit at the bottom of the totem pole in every ghetto and every city

Everywhere you go

Living dying and doing without

Empty handed and open mouthed…

Think about it
