Where I Am From

Where I Am From

I am from coffee in the morning to Maxwell House at night.

I am from the feel of soft carpet mixed with the vivid smell of roses.

I am from the rose, and the sweet smell of its pollen.

I am from my Aunt Lori's Thankgiving reunions where we all enjoy the time we spent together.

I am from the endless knowledge of my family that we all share.

I am from Edward and Sheila Moss a well known family from England.

I am from road trips in the summer, where the ocean breeze always blows.

I am from card games in the evenings where I learned to be patience with time.

I am from bravery in the face of danger, to humbleness in the presence of my betters.

I am from my family's cross that I wear around my neck, and from visions that the Lord sends in times of trouble.

I am from Tallahassee, a busy city that always is awake at any time of day.

I am from Italian pasta and American Hot dogs cooked on a grill.

I am from the stories of the good old days when gas was twenty-five cents a gallon, and my grandfather could drive for weeks for just five dollars.

I am from the taste of baked cookies in the fall and the wrinkles on my grandmothers face.

I am from a place called home, a place that is truly magical in all ways.

I am from everywhere you look and especially where the heart grows healthy in the care of others you love.
