When War is but Past

We hope and we pray

That the day will come at last

When war is but past

The scars may linger

But at least we will live free

No more fear of death

That is what I hope

For both of us, you and me

So put the guns down

There is more to gain

I see more for us than pain

Let something go free

Give up the hatred

That is what holds us all back

Peace is what we lack

Again I say please

Forget the fights of the past

Because together

We can put an end

To the wars that seem to last

If not today please

Tomorrow at last

Could we finally see it

When war is but past
