when adoration turns to inspiration

if you can't believe in yourself,

you can leave the task to me

when you're feeling worthless

know that you matter to me

because when i look at the world,

your soul is all i see

human race,

you're honest

even when you don't want to be

i want you to know

that you're like the stars

i'll never reach

you're special

like hidden seashells under the beach

and i love you

like a brother, like a sister,

like an ocean, like a river

my heart can no longer stay locked

inside this cage of bones

no longer trapped

in the world of a darkness

that i've always known,

but it's only because I met the one

who gave us his life so he could mold

the key

I met him

and I said show me, please

what you need me to see

and he showed me

that you- are the same as me

that being said,

if you can't see your beauty,

let me be the glasses

let me be the antenna

when all you feel

is static

it's almost automatic

the way I want to know your story

the moment our paths cross,

our eyes lock

and it doesn't last long,

but then you're stuck in my head

like a favorite song

I don't know you yet

I don't know your name

but I know we- are the same

we're connected,

like the clouds made of rain

we share our victories

and empathize with our pains.

I don't know you yet

but I want to know

all your dreams,

I want to read

through your fake smiles like a book

even if pages are falling out

because of worn out seams

I know it's hard to keep it together

in this world full of broken things,

when you love yourself

the world tells you to stop

I'm here to tell you

that every lie you’ve ever

told yourself

is trying to turn you

into someone you're not,

your brain screams "stupid"

your nerves yell "weak"

the world asks you what's wrong

but you're just too tired to speak,

too tired of fighting,

too tired of feeling this empty

and bleak

please,

come with me

there’s someone that I need

you to meet

and they're beautiful,

they're human

and they make me

complete, but you don't want to come

and you can't shake away

the defeat, and I know

there isn't much I can do

so I lay this mirror

at your feet- hoping

one day you'll pick it up

so you end up face to face

with the beauty

that inspires me.
