What's happening

I'm looking back and I no longer see anyone.

I've spent so much time trying to see who's behind me.
I thought I was already the best but I should've kept running.
I'm the only one that's behind now.
Everyone caught up and now they're ahead.
As I turn my head forward no one seems to be looking back.
Everyone found themselves.
I was too busy trying to find myself between them.
I never understood why mama told me the story of the rabbit and the turtle so much.
Now it all makes sense.
