What we could be

If only we could drift

away,

bind hands and finally

say,

"this is our lives, who could take it away

from us?"

"Who took it from you?"

no answer.

no response.

if only we could drift

away

and learn to  fight another

day.

no more fighting

no wars

no pain

in a world that has seen nothing else.
