What Is So Awesome about Her?

They all ask, "What is so awesome about her?"

As she plays her guitar alone in her room,

And writing lyrics straight from the heart.

She plays in her band and rocks out to the tunes.

They exchange whispers that she can't hear, "What is so awesome about her?"

As she crosses the line and finishes the race.

The bones in her feet have snapped in half

Yet she still has kept the pace.

Giggling and smirking they all say with malevolent faces, "What is so awesome about her?"

As she sits down at the table with the boy she loves right to the very brim,

The same boy she must let go of; he'll be waking up 4,000 miles away

While she cries herself to sleep longing only for him.

How can people not see her beauty and worth,

Clouded by the sins of judgment and ignorance?

Every day they pass a girl beholding so much strength and passion to discover and love

Yet they still ask themselves, "What is so awesome about her?"
