What is poetry to me?

Poetry is my pornography

That thing that helps me get thru the day

That thing that makes me wake up and say hey

to God, my friends, and hell, even my ex bae bae

That thing that reminds me to live,

reminds me to reach inside and feel

That thing that reminds me not to sing

to that fat lady, and that devil king

That thing that reminds me of my dreamland

Can you say Japan?

I've never been there so I can't see

but that's exactly what poetry means to me
