What Poetry Has Taught Me
Poetry is my teacher
She knows me inside out
Poetry bore my soul
She tore my heart right out
Poetry scoffs bitterly
For I am such a fool
She shakes her haughty head
For constantly I fall
My life is full of dark twists
My future ever so bleak
My heart bleeds emotions
Drowning me below grief
My stupidity dooms me
When will I get a clue
Finally I give in
My common sense flies in
I let Poetry sooth me
She directs my heart stream
My mind empties its steam
As She calms my dark storm
It is Poetry who teaches
She teaches me about myself
