What is love?

Fri, 08/28/2015 - 21:06 -- tierrah

He asked me if I loved him.

I said I'm sorry no.

In a population so belittled.

Love meant so little.

While hatred,

Overpowered it.

The press somehow devoured it.

Overflooded the ears of its viewers,

With discrimination.

A nation...

With so little infiltration,

of love.

No red roses.

No white doves.

Just hugs.

Blue disappointed faces.

Pain felt in places...

Where cracks in your heart grew.

There his finger traces.

Trying to fuse them together.

But instead, the cracks just spread.

Overly used.

Its meaning abused.

I dos

Become I can'ts

A pair...

Soon divided

Then Being alone

Becomes abided

Now Tell me..

What is love?

This poem is about:
My community
My country
Our world
