What is a Life?

For days I have wondered what I shall do,

Wandering the streets of my mind aimlessly through and through,

Through dreams I see the beauty of all things arise,

Colorful plants, birds flying, sun shining, all in great stride,

The farther I go, the thicker the mind

Facts, ideas, where it all comes to life

The scents I smell are the ones worth remembering,

The past are full of memories I was dissembling,

The first time I ate a meal full of flavor,

Taste buds soaring with each bite I intend to savor

Sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, plain, are what drive me to be insane,

Wondering aimlessly of the flavors I taste,

I cannot let any of this food go to waste.

The sight of those hungry

The ones without food,

The ones that have nothing

Not even a pair of good shoes

What I see through my eyes,

The ones in my crazy insane mind,

Have led me on a path to help those without thinking “Who am I?”

For I am an ordinary man,

One that lives to take a stand,

Those without opportunity to have a diploma in hand

All for the sight of a smile because they were given the chance

To hear their name be called and their mind in a trance,

All because of what they hear,

A moment that would bring them to tears.

What they have gone through

All the work they have done,

Would be heard by all people, each and every single one

I awake back to reality where all things are still,

I hear a little bird chirping and see it perched on the windowsill.

Another look out into the world, reality as they say,

Breathing in and smelling the scents of the world that I live in each and every day.

Yet, the life I live in both dreams and reality,

Is a life that is built on love and morality.
