What I'd Die Without

In life there are choices, that define who we are

Ideas, theories, and people so bizzare

But everyone at some point, feels lost and alone

no group to fit in with, nowhere for their own,

no feeling of belonging, isolation at home

Few people to call friends that you'd never let close

and no one to confess all the secrets you know

But deep in my heart theres someone consistent

like embers on a bitter night, it crackles when you listen

Then it sparks, and it sizzles and it roars up in flame

Like a dancer with passion, captures all in her gaze

If theres one thing I know I could never live without

Its the memory of that girl

and the flame she snuffed out

My first "official" work of literature, I hope it reminds people of someone they knew as it does for me.
