What I Think About You

I sauntered down a narrow footpath

where two thick forests,

one on my left and the other on my right,

rested in repose

Life was ample and the ambience was vivid, quiescent

Breathless

The blues of the freshwater flow downstream,

the stormless sky,

the t-shirt I wear

The yellows of the warm sun’s radiance peek through the leaves,

the pollen of flowers in lavishing variety, the buzzing working bees

The reds, purples, and pinks of the petals dance with the northeast current

with an explicit presence

The browns of fertile earth where decomposers work,

the rough bark pattern on tree trunks

Where does this lead to?

Somewhere I know is amazing.

Where everyone is relieved from stress of this society

Where everyone prioritizes courtesy, spontaneity, and piety

Where everyone acts without feeling restricted to human incapability

Where strangers are your next new friend

Where rabbits, dogs, cats, kookaburras, weasels, lynxes,

porcupines, tapirs, finches, wombats, beavers, and crabs roam peacefully

Where “tragedy” becomes an incomprehensible archaic word

lost in rumors of “chosen death,”  “the inevitable,” and “limit.”

Where the reminiscence of memories are concrete and long lasting

Where technology enhances firsthand experience

Where struggle exists to show us that people partake in adventures

Where people are emotional more than anything

Where we relish in leisure for relaxation,

water slides, roller skate rinks, snowy hills,

parks with playgrounds, beaches, and large expanses of nature

A place that is ideal

That is equal and simple

Where dreams are limitless and are fulfilled through strife

Where surprises invigorate life

And all believe that sacrifice or misfortune can be avoided

regardless of any circumstances

But this misconception I wish is really unorganized and a jumbled mess.

I only know what I want, but how will it fit in an order that won’t be chaotic

Realistically?

There is no certainty in me

That everyone would favor a world I imagine

But I have faith that my jurisdiction is good

Everyone should have bliss and comfort

How could I edge closer and closer to this setting with such ethereal sensation?

Where in this world called reality, can I get in touch with my imagination

so that I too can find Narnia?

People say that our dreams bring us to that place unknown

Some say that movies, books, and art supplement the creations of different worlds

where love and good prevail

Others say that only through analysis and study

can the unthinkable become real

But what about fairy dust and the impossible done through

a simple touch or wave of a hand,

super speed and invisibility, sprites and unicorns, the accepted unreal?

How can they enter our reality? Is imagination and pure belief really enough?

I wish more words would be created to clearly capture the nostalgia in our experiences

a word for the relief of sleeping to the light drizzle of rain by the window,

the relief of lying down under the stars on a grassy hill,

the relief of finishing a final,

the feeling of being touched overwhelmingly by magnanimous people,

or finding a treasure chest under the sand castle.

But I really, truly wish for our imaginations

to take the infinite paths of potential.

Instead of going affirmation or negation,

this or that,

right or left,

We should be going to the abdomen of a spider,

the pixel that makes up the piece of pepperoni,

the last one hundred yards before space,

Santa’s workshop, a grizzly bear’s den,

the end of the rainbow, the fifth stripe of the American flag,

inside a basketball, the dumpster of the rich,

the minds of two mutual lovers, the cellist’s black sock.

Now that I’ve recalled the world I want

and the manga I’ve read,

I think otherwise.

Everyone’s idea of a perfect world is glorious in its own way.

Only similar through ethics,

I wish I could be part of any of these worlds.

Am I not thankful? Is this world too drab for me?

No. I don’t think so.

We have music ranging from rap to classical to Tagalog

all inherently important in rending the heart

Literature the most perfect understatement

A community that is diverse and just as unique as the people in it

Aspirations to take opportunities that may come ever so slightly or timely

We have a world of wonder and numerous places to explore

We have studies ranging from the functioning of mitochondria

to the culmination of moles of planets and stars

But out of all these phenomena,

the best is given to people at their birth.

The conscience.

Which signifies that laughing and crying

signify happiness and sadness.

Because we share this sensibility

Strangers can become friends.

Friends can become part of your family.

And your family can be your best friends.

Contact amongst humans creates bonds

These bonds bring about the utmost joy

that life needs to sustain in its effervescence.

It gives us a confidence to bring or appreciate

vibrancy, vitality, and liveliness.

It’s what makes books come to life.

So just as Yotsuba has her father,

Hana has Vivi,

Kyo has Tohru,

Fairy Tail has each other,

and everyone has Batman,

What I think about you is just as magical as anything fictional,

too perfect for this world,

or the fulfillment of my biggest dream

You definitely must be a part of my ideal world,

wherever it may be

hither or thither or in the deepest shade of blue.
