What the Heart Desires

Sun, 09/08/2013 - 12:38 -- uroosa

Can we forget about reality?

Jump into the sky and

Swim as if we were in the ocean,

Like summer a few years back.

Don’t hold me too delicately,

I’m not about to shatter

Like the dreams I dreamt

About our future.

Can I throw the bad thoughts away?

Pretend they were never

Crawling through my mind

Like parasites.

Don’t talk if you can’t speak.

I’m not about to wait.

If there’s nothing to say

We might as well bid our farewells.

Tie up my heart in yours

And throw it off the edge of the earth

So that when we part ways

It won’t hurt our empty chests.
