What Eyes Can Say

brown eyes

awkward silence

darting stares

say something

be honest

tell me

no more lies

“we’re over”

sad eyes

still brown

weight lifted

tears stain our cheeks

last embraces

swollen eyes

leaving the past

nothing will ever be the same
