What Drugs Have Done To My Life

My skin is cold,
My lips are pale,
My body looks like the color has been stripped of it,
Is this what death is like?
No and yes,
Death has not come upon me,
Yet.
This is what drugs has done to me.
No sleep,
No food,
Nothing.
I lost everything.
Friends,
Family,
Everything.
In my life time I’ve been,
Raped,
Beaten,
Abused… by the ones I thought I could trust.
Drugs have taken over my life.
My life now depends on them.
I could not live without them.
Without them I would,
Be in pain,
Suffer,
Internally or physically die.
I have dealt,
And used.
I’ve lied,
Cheated,
Stolen,
To get them.
To you,
I’m stupid,
But to me,
This is my life.
I’ve gone to jail.
My name,
No one important.
I’m the person you blow off in the streets,
In the stores,
Anywhere,
Just because you think I’m stupid,
Or worthless.
What you don’t realize,
Is that is what got me started in the first place.
I am an addict,
And this is what drugs have done to me.
Word of advice,
Don’t do them.
