What Am I

When I was a little girl,

I wasn’t so little

I was always different,

In size and mind

I kept my fears closed and shut the doors into my soul

Humble, shy, and quiet

That was who I was

One character

One emotion

One blank page

As I grew, I feared judgement

As I feared judgement, I cried

As I cried, I realized

I am more than what people think

I am emotional

I am smart

I am talented

I am more than a blank page

I am a book, with secrets and stories to tell

Whether I choose to share my story is by my own will

Now I know what I am

I am not a little girl
