We're too young for politics

Fri, 01/17/2014 - 23:13 -- Katty

We try to disagree and deny that high school is more than just a popularity contest

we try to believe that people are not that shallow

we try to make them more mature

but we always end up with the same results

the politics

we hope that maybe this time things will be different

we hope that people will actually come to realize this is not just a game of who has more friends

we hope that people will see that you really would be great

but we always end up with the same results

the politics

we get the courage to go up there

we get the people's attention for just one moment

we get to watch their expressions slowly become uniterested as they realize you're not one of them

and we always end up with the same results

the politics

even though we know you're more qualified

even though we know you're more mature

even though we know you would be great

we always end up with the same results

the politics

we're just in high school, not the white house

we shouldn't have to deal with all these politics

but we always end up with the same results

the politics

we need to change

we need to give everyone a chance

we need to do the right thing

so we don't end up with the same results

the politics

we need to listen

we need to respect

we need to change

so we don't end up with the same results

the politics
