Were Only Human

I spend my life wishing
That life was always fair;
That no one would seek to harm,
Harm the sign "Beware."

But nothing comes as predicted,
Nothing sets as planned,
But the control I have on life
Is where my journeys band.

No, I cant control life's way
No, I cant set my own course
But I know my power lies in words I say
For the better,
Or for the worse.

So as you wait for a perfect day
Or the sun to guide or light a way,
Remember life cant always be fair
But fair is not what makes us human.

For in every human is a way to live,
And in every heart, a longing to give,
But troubles can not seem to far
Cause failure only makes you who you are.
