Black is the secret kept inside me

Cold and lifeless where none can see

Gray is the line upon which I tread

To lie or to tell? A choice I dread

White is my soul which none have touched

Pure, but alone, a life Fate has hushed

Purple is the mystique of it all

The color of the fog in our tragic pall

Alone is the lie it tells to each

"All your hope is gone and out of reach"

Black is the truth inside of me

Frail and troubled, only I can see

Gray is the gale I must try to stead

To lie or to tell? I was not lead

White is the hole that can't be filled

Void, yet enough, if only less veiled

Purple is the hope given us all

The color that ends this tragic pall

Alone is the lie it tells to each

"There is hope for all," we all shall teach.
