Well-earned

Hebrews 4:12 New English Translation (NET Bible)

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

Emptiness

Life now seems far gone to draw lines in the sand.

Tar seems more the substance that pollutes our deck

All appears by-gone as we stretch our empty hands

In search of hand-outs that indeed should bring us back

We gave up long ago, even though we just now started.

We lost the starting point as we were searching for the finish

In our lives filled with apropos ourselves in such outsmarted

As we visited every joint and marrow, our confidence to replenish

Up in years, we look back without the ability to turn our head

All we notice is before us as it appears now like the past

Entirely off the track, we stumble straight toward our beds

Thinking we’re leading upfront, the hilarious, confusing cast
