Welcome to America

Welcome to America

by Sage

The way we live now,

I can't go out in the streets.

Because someone is begging,

or someone's getting beat.

Divided by color,

This world shows no love.

Is this what he wanted,

The man up above?

Nowadays you're hated,

for just about anything.

Sexuality to skin color,

Practically everything.

Discriminated for being gay,

hate crimes committed.

But what can i say?

My skin isn't perfectly  fitted.

Fat Shaming. Slut shaming.

Feminists galore.

And oh don't you dare,

call a girl a whore.

And I'm sick of religion,

getting shoved down my throat.

Believe what you want,

But stop trying to gloat.

Look at the children,

obsessed with their phones.

Snapchat,Facebook,Twitter,

And we still feel alone.

Young girls are starving,

just to fit in.

Boys playing girls,

A generation of sin.

Sex control our minds,

By the age of fourteen.

Our countries tied up,

Can we break these binds?

All of these Teenagers,

Out getting stoned.

They all come from this,

a broken up home.

Our future generations,

will end up behind bars.

For drugs and violence,

and theft of cool cars.

This is my country,

Where i reside.

But this isn’t home,

Because i have to hide.

Bonded by hatred,

Society, Take a seat.

Let America stand up,

And admit its defeat.

Our country is broken,

The children sit silent.

How can we live,

In a world that’s so violent?

Together we stand,

One Nation,

Divided up,

Unfixable,

With poverty and hatred

for all.

Welcome to America.
