The weight of the world

There once was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, and he got his high from life. And everyday he would bring his mother flowers, and he always watched the sunset. And seeing the stars took his breathe away. That was the year that his father took him fishing. And girl of his dreams gave him his first kiss and told him not to tell. That was when life chained a brick to his back, and told him to keep walking.

There once was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. And he got his high from her. And everyday he'd tell his mother he was fine, and give her a kiss on the cheek. And he never had time to watch the sunset. And the stars were his only comfort. That was the year his father started drugs again, and the girl of his dreams walked out of his life. And life replaced her with a rock and a chain and told him to keep walking.

There once was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. And he got his high from drink. And he'd come home late at night, and dry his mothers tears. And he forgot why he loved the sunset. And the stars were too far away. That was the year he lost his childhood home. And he had to leave his mother alone. And life chained a boulder to his back and told him to keep walking.

There once was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. And he couldn't find his high. And he lied to his mother, because he didn't want to upset her. And he caught a glimpse of a sunset. And remembered his old life. And the stars could not be seen from his new home. That was the year his father abandoned him, and a new girl broke his heart. And his mother lost her house. And life chained a mountain to his back and told him to keep walking.

There once was a boy with blue hair and teary eyes. And he was dead inside. And he told his mother he loved her. And the sunset that night was beautiful. And he didn't care about the stars. That was the night he stopped on a set of tracks. Not because he couldn't keep going, but because it was easier. And they called him a coward. And he didn't care. Because the train broke the chains and set him free.
