The weeping child

A surge of fear goes through her heart;

She's all alone and torn apart.

Just weeping softly in the dark

Without a single light or spark.

How did she end up there, she wonders;

Where were her parents, or her brothers?

Why did they leave her on her own,

To lie down on the freezing stone?

The girl kept crying out of sorrow,

Knowing she'll go again tomorrow

To sit and weep against the stones

That marked her dead family's bones.
