If America was great

We wouldn't close up all our gates

because that walls not meant for peace

the foundations full of fear and hate

the world can't relate

they look at us with disgrace

it's 2017

and we still discriminate

but it's still not too late

we have yet to meet our fate

we're on the right path 

to make this land a better place

because this is the land of the free

and the home of the brave

and last time I checked wouldn't have it any other way

so I say this with grace

we are going to be great

because we have always been one
