We the Future

Thu, 04/06/2017 - 15:17 -- Hal

We the people

Are the future of this country.

We have reached an age

Beyond which the future is unclear.

So, as much as we can,

We must seek description,

But simultaneously, remain genuine.

We the people

Are the future,

And the future is unclear.

We are people.

We are black, We are white, We are red, We are yellow, We are every color imaginable.

We are gay, We are lesbian, We are straight, We are bisexual, We are every color imaginable.

We are male, We are female, We are neither, We are both, We are every color imaginable.

We are right, We are wrong, We are justified, We are disproven, We are every color imaginable.

We are religious, We are rational, We are silent, We are political, We are every color imaginable.

We are hateful, We are loving, We are at peace, We are at war, We are every color imaginable.

And so, we are unclear, we are undefinable, we are blurry, and we are opaque.

We are the future.

And the future is unclear.

We the future

Are the people

So, as much as possible,

We attempt to define what we do not know,

And in doing so, we lose what we know.

We have come to a point

After which our fate is obscure.

We the future

Are the people of this country.
