We all live in this world for a reason  

So why can’t you just let us live in peace

Does it give you joy to put us down

Teenage girls who have done no harm

Wait don’t forget its cause we are Muslim girls

So obviously we are a threat to this world

Hold on cause thats where your wrong

I am Islam and I come in peace

I am here to spread wisdom and guidance and

not to ruin the human race

Before you go and judge know that

 

We Are Not Those People

In the hot desert with bombs

Strapped around their chest

I’m not the production of one man’s hate for the USA

Not to breed not to kill and silence innocence

I thought you said I had rights?

What’s freedom of speech if I can’t express my words

Filter out my truth and tell the world discrepancies

You see

I am not those people

Who use Islam as a way

To spread discrimination & hate

Not the ones

Who use ignorance as their pen

And racism as their book to

Write bullshit lessons on

Someone elses holy book

The same people who

Who handcuff & shackle those that are different

As they bound them by their hands and feet

And gag them by their throats

Whispering they have no hope

I am not those people they say I am

Trying to climb the obstacles

You Americans built so I could fall and land

Not the same people

society labeled me I am

Even though I was a clueless youngin at the age of 4

My future is still hard because of this racism & war

9/11 was a tragedy

a lot of people lost their lives

Don’t look at me

Its not like I put that plane in drive

I am not those people

who bring fear into your eyes

Islam means peace

You dont hear me say “Terrorist Buh-Bye”

I am not those people

They think lives in a male - dominated world

Yeaaah my fabric may be a long but it shows my modesty

Holding my deen up high

You can’t shake my integrity

Understand that

My Muslim families are an eye witness

But no, Media says “Hes White & Had a Mental Illness”

 

We Are Not Those People

Committing all sorts of sins and evil

The arrogant ones full of their ego

I use my words first

Before my fist in a fight

The people who abuse their power

Who look down upon  the poor

I only spread and do what’s right

From the start it was for peace

Before evil went out and was released

And the hearts of people were taken over by a deadly disease

I am the light that will bring a great relief.

Imagine me a muslim girl

Tryna make in this brainwashed world

I hear your whispers as i walk on by

And snickers as i catch your eye

You may think you know me

But do you even know who you’re meant to be

I am not those people who you imagine me

to be

Just cause I gotta hijab on my head

Does it really mean I bombed up all this shit

Does my skin color really determine

Whats inside of me

Am I less human than Allah meant me to be

am not those people who you imagine me to be

You stand there judging

But do you truly know the whole story                                       

Do you know how hard it is to walk around being

antagonized and Terrorized

People looking down on me

Cause of the actions of some idiots who once used to be

 

We Are Not Those People

I am from a religion of perfect morals and adequate

It is the way of life.

It is the sound for the deaf,

the light for the blind ,

the shelter for the homeless,

the warm touch for those lonely and hurt ,

in this cruel world.

So understand why I care so much for putting my peace up so high to change the world.

I’m made by peace , held together by peace and only want peace.

Not what you say I am

I have so much to offer this world

My existence has a meaning and will not be misheard

I won't be quiet , just so I can politically correct

 

WE ARE NOT THOSE PEOPLE

Society Has labeled

branded

tattooed every inch of our bodies

with this name

This idea that we all are born in vein

Nothing more than a spec on dirt

on the white man's collar

But the truth can not be contained

Our words won’t be hushed

We will stand together

Be the light for Muslim Day

We will be the reason you are wrong

Voices joined by many as we sing our song

 

We are  Freedom

We are Strength

We are Colored

We are Muslim

We are Not Those People
