We Are Born

They say we come into this world tender and mild With hopes and dreams buried in every child But no, you burst in kicking and screaming Telling the world that we are not leaving Not til we take the world in each hand Some going off and exploring a far away land Others ODing state side with a pipe Our souls to be picked, nice an ripe This world is too cruel to those babies who are born Yet it's the dead instead that we choose to mourn We die our deaths before we shut our eyes Because we want to see more before we say our goodbyes We leave this world the way we came in Kicking and screaming until the very end
